First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari Inaugurates Key Development and Sports Projects in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH, August 3: First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited Nawabshah and its suburban area of 60 Mile on Saturday, where she inaugurated and inspected multiple development, education, and sports projects aimed at uplifting flood-affected families and empowering women.

Accompanied by Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited newly built homes under the Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees initiative. At Union Council Abdullah Lund, Village Faiz Mohammad Pathan, she distributed property ownership certificates directly to women, emphasizing female empowerment and land rights.

She also laid the foundation stone for the Benazir School in the 60 Mile area, reaffirming her dedication to expanding quality education in rural Sindh. Additionally, she announced several development initiatives, including a drainage system project, launch of the Peoples Bus Service, and the establishment of a Sindh Bank branch to provide financial inclusion to the residents.

In Daur taluka of Nawabshah district, the First Lady inaugurated the Benazir Girls School, a significant addition to the region’s educational infrastructure. The facility comprises 45 classrooms, libraries, science laboratories, and other modern amenities, catering to female students from primary to secondary levels. Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho was also present at the ceremony.

Later in the day, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also inaugurated the Benazir Bhutto Hockey Stadium and formally opened the All Sindh Inter-Division Pink Hockey Championship. Teams from Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Nawabshah are participating in the championship.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari launched the event by formally hitting the hockey ball into the goal, symbolizing the start of the tournament. She watched the inaugural match and met with the participating female hockey players, expressing encouragement and support.

She was joined by Sindh’s Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, Sports Minister Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, President of Sindh Women’s Hockey Shehla Raza, and other senior officials.

These initiatives mark a comprehensive effort to address housing, education, women's rights, sports, and infrastructure in one of Sindh's key regions.
